My Story!

Sooo, my story is going great!!!
I have finally finished!

This is it:

Hi my name is Spicer, this is my new diary mum bought for me. Mum says I have to write in it everyday from now on!
AWESOME!

Thursday 17 July 2011
-      Today we’re moving to New Zealand. We live in America, but mum wanted to move for a change. The flight takes hours and hours to get to our destination, but I had a late night last night so I could sleep on the plane the whole way. We are about to go on the plane now so BI!

Friday 18 July 2011
-      We are off the plane now. We’re in a cab heading to our new house in Lyall Bay. Mum arranged to get a new car and it would be at the house by the time we get there.
We just arrived at our new house! The car is here! The house is AMAZING!
The car, mum tells me, is a Toyota Tacoma. I never knew mum liked cars that much. Anyway, mum and I are going shopping tomorrow because all of our stuff is still in America. But it’s nearly bedtime and mum said we should get some rest soon. But she didn’t forget to bring down some sleeping bags for us to sleep in tonight. Mum and I decided which room is whose, and mine is a baby blue painted room with tall wardrobes. I’m getting quite tired I might go to bed… GOODNIGHT!

Saturday 19 July 2011
-      This morning we got up really early so we can get to all the shops today. We are in the car right now and going to the Lyall bay Shopping centre. We’re shopping first for bedroom stuff then kitchen stuff then bathroom stuff then study stuff and last but not least FOOD. So we are finished getting all of our things and we hired movers to get all of our stuff into the house, we couldn’t move all of it by ourselves! My room looks sooooo amazing, it has blue every thing. I love it.
Mum says that I have to start going to high school again. I wish I could just have the rest of the year off. I don’t want to go to school.

Sunday 20 July 2011
-      This morning mum brought me pancakes with fruit salad and a glass of orange juice (my favourite), on a tray and put it beside my bed. I could smell it in my sleep, and I woke up to that delicious smell. I could already taste it in my mouth when I was reaching for the plate. YUM! We didn’t do much this morning for lunch we had fruit salad and mainly chicken sandwiches. Mum explained to me that we had to go for a high school interview tomorrow. I was so excited but nervous at the same time.

Monday 21 July 2011
-      Today wasn’t so great. At the interview I froze whenever Mr.Higginbottom turned towards me to ask me a question. My hands got all sweaty when it was my turn to speak. I didn’t know what to say... Should I just tell the truth? “I don’t want to go to this high school, and I rather don’t enjoy looking at your green wart on your face!” NO, mum would be absolutely mad at me! “Yes I do really want to go to this high school and I really look forward to having you as my teacher” Mum looked shocked, I didn’t even realise what I had just said, oh god, I just made a huge fool of myself. “Well then, that was... very well done!” “Yes that was very well done, I loved that last sentence of yours,” A voice blurted. “Ahh, Mr.Whicherly, I am sorry to say Spicer but I won’t be your teacher this year. Mr.Whicherly here will be.” Mr.Whicherly looked evil, his eyes shined bright and he smirked as he looked me straight in the eye. It was about time we left but the interview wasn’t over. Mr.Whicherly apparently wanted to know more about one of his new students.

Tuesday 22 July 2011
-      I got a letter from Mr.Higginbottom just now. It says that I am welcome to join Plitch High School. NO THANKS! Mum clarified to me that I had to go to that dreadful high school, and I got lucky that my first day of high school was tomorrow! Not what I wanted at all. Right now we are driving to the uniform shop to get it. We got home after we got the icky uniform. I sat down at my desk nervous scared to be honest. My first day of school in New Zealand is tomorrow, first day of high school. I got all my books and writing utensils ready in my pencil case. All the things that I needed I crammed into my brand new school bag. I made my lunch in advance (so I didn’t need to in the morning) and put it in the fridge to keep it fresh.

Wednesday 23 July 2011
-      Mum woke me up at 7:00 in the morning to get ready. I got dressed and went down stairs. Mum had made me raspberry jam toast with a glass of orange juice (I have orange juice with anything). I sat down at the dining table with my breakfast and started eating. It was time to go to school, and I had all my things ready. I had to wear my burgundy school uniform. My gold and burgundy pinstripe blazer with my matching knee length skirt. Eww. I got my lunch out of the fridge and put it in my bag, I did the same with my books and pencil case. Mum is now driving me to Plitch High School. I walked in to the front office “you must be Spicer!” The office lady boomed from across the room. She gave me a heck of a fright! “Uhh, yeah, I’m wondering if I could get my time table from you.”

I said goodbye to mum and gave her a hug. I never wanted to let her go, but at that moment I saw Mr.Whicherly out of the corner of my eye. I had to let her go. As mum walked away from me, I could see that gleam in Mr.Whicherly’s eyes.

Hope you enjoyed my blog!

  1. Wow Meade that's quite a bit of writing. It's interesting that you chose to use a diary style to tell a story. This is quite common amongst writers. Diary style writing allows the character to give you precise details about themselves and their emotions rather than you trying to figure out a way of saying that the reader has to figure it out for themselves. I hope you continue the Spicer Chronicles. ps. orange juice is awesome!
